The effect of oxygen therapy for pain relief

English researchers recently found that high-flow oxygen is effective in the treatment of cluster headaches. People who are suffering from cluster headaches may be suffering headaches 8 times daily and at least for weeks. The previous treatments are including the injecting of some drugs, but the use of these drugs are not recommended heavy because of their many side effects. The High-pressure oxygen treatment for cluster headaches is pretty good, but should be used on a limited basis. These studies were done on more than 76 adults with headaches that were on average 18 to 70 years old. Results revealed that 78 percent of patients were reduced pain who received 15 minutes of high-pressure oxygen. In these studies, no side effects were observed after treatment with hyperbaric oxygen. But researchers believe that more studies should be done in this field and will be done for the acute treatment of cluster headache.
